Big Bert Honoured!
| Prehistoric Crocodile found at the Carrot River Post Office. It is 20 feet long and resembles a crocodile which lived along the eastern shore of an ancient ocean 92 million-years ago. It is the first of its kind discovered in Canada and the only one of four known in North America. He has been dubbed (Big Bert), a fossil found at Pasquia Regional Park, near Carrot River, Sask. The fossils are now on display at the Saskatchewan Museum of Natural History, Regina, Saskatchewan. |

| Big Bert paid a visit to the Carrot River Post Office on August 25, 1999, when a new cancellation stamp was unveiled in his honour. Retail Rep. Reg Wilson and Postmaster Norma Seabrook unveiled the postmark, Mavis Schapansky, on behalf of the Town of Carrot River congratulated the post office for promoting Big Bert.
